The Nobel Peace Prize is announced, 11:00 in Oslo

The Norwegian committee announces at 11:00 this morning. At the United Nations last September the president listed the seven wars he had ended — Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, the Congo and Rwanda, Pakistan and India, Israel and Iran, Egypt and Ethiopia, Armenia and Azerbaijan — and added that "everyone says that I should get the Nobel Peace Prize for each one of these achievements." By the Knesset in October it was eight.

PolitiFact rated the list Mostly False: Serbia and Kosovo were not at war, the dam talks were stalled, and Cambodia and Thailand were shooting again by December. The 2025 prize went to María Corina Machado, after which the White House said the committee had placed politics over peace. On September 1 the United States struck Iran, one of the pairs on the list, and he said we are prepared to do another one any time.
